This site is dedicated to providing new and interesting scenario game maps for Railroad Tycoon 3 as well as tips on playing the game.   We will as always look under the hood and into the gearing of the game system.

Tycoonisms

PNW - Personal Net Worth.  Your own private equity worth. (Cash and stock value)  Often a goal.  Useful to buy interest in other railroads if the need comes to merge with them.

CBV - Company Book Value.  The equity worth of your company.  All assets less any debt.  A very common goal.  This is different from Market Capitalization which is the number of outstanding stocks times the share price.

Burn Track - Cheapest possible track.  Single wood bridged, no tunnels, high grades.  Not meant to be run on.  Used only to satisfy a connect goal.

Burn Train - Cheapest possible engine.  Used to haul cargo for some specific goal one way one time then be retired.
